User Friendly
PbT Lead is a premium lead racing ballast designed for all types of kart racing. If you're looking for a high-quality, user-friendly product, look no further. PbT Lead is manufactured in New York and shipped throughout the USA.

Premium Quality
I began making lead weights for our own kart racing team due to the lack of readily available, high-quality options on the market. It's not uncommon to see unsightly ballast on otherwise pristine karts, and I quickly discovered the demand for a premium product. Starting locally in Northern New York, I now ship PbT Lead across the country.

Handcrafted
Each lead piece is handcrafted with cast-in mounting holes. All weights are painted white and feature the PbT Lead logo with designated spaces for kart numbers and weight. Each piece includes mounting hardware for quick and easy installation.

Hardware Included
There are others out there selling lead weights for similar prices, but they can’t match my quality and appearance and they typically don’t include mounting hardware.

Absolutely! I’ve been involved in dirt oval kart racing for many years and I can help you figure out what you need. No matter what kind of racing you're into, I can help you figure out your ballast options and needs. Trust me, you’re not the first “new dad” kart racer out there! We were all new to the sport at one time. No shame in asking questions!
Are you willing to ship?
Yes! Most of my customers do it this way, actually. I’m also happy to meet up directly with customers in the Jefferson County New York area.
What type of shipping do you use?
Virtually all of my shipping goes through the US Mail as Flat Rate shipping. This is the most economical way to ship. It’s reasonably priced, packages can be up to 70 pounds*, and they will pick up from my house and deliver to yours, nationwide. UPS is also an option, and can be a little faster, but it gets expensive in a hurry outside of New England and I recommend just sticking with USPS. *Realistically 50 pounds per box is the limit to ensure quick shipping & no damage.
How soon can I expect my package?
USPS Flat Rate Shipping claims to deliver in 3-5 days nationwide, but realistically, if you are outside of New York State/New England, it will likely take 3-8 days. Heavier boxes tend to ship slower.
How do I know my lead won’t get damaged during shipping?
Each package is insured for the full value, but don’t worry! Damaged or lost packages are very rare. I spend as much time packaging the lead as I do making it. Each piece is individually wrapped and immobilized to prevent damage, and I typically put a box within a box with layers of cardboard and foam for padding and immobilization. Because lead is so soft, layers of protection and movement prevention within the package are critical--and I will document the shipping process and share photos of the packaging, inside and out.
Lead is so soft. How long can I expect my lead to look great?
Lead is as soft as it is heavy, so it's bound to get dinged up and paint will get chipped during the rigors of racing, especially if you regularly swap & move weights around. This is unavoidable. But if you don’t have to relocate or remove your lead on a regular basis, it will look great for several racing seasons.
